My name is Samantha Rivera. I am pursuing a Master of Science Degree in the Physician Assistant Studies at CUNY York College, Jamaica, NY.

I graduated from Baruch College, CUNY, in December 2016. I originally matriculated at Baruch in 2009, after graduating from Townsend Harris High School. However, without direction, focus, and while managing personal crises at the time, I stopped attending college for 3 years. During that time I was employed at a small Primary Care Office in Queens as a receptionist.

My interactions with the patients inspired me to become a Medical Assistant. Humbled by the opportunities I had to support patients, and be a part of their journey back to health, I was inspired to finish my undergraduate degree at Baruch graduating with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology Magna Cum Laude, and pursue a career as a Physician Assistant.

I believe no patient should be turned away in their time of need, and this is what drives me forward.
